Social activities for seniors
There are a wide range of events available to senior City of Subiaco residents, including lunches, film club, high teas, bus trips, information forums and fitness classes.

Join in the fun of a themed community lunch held at the Subiaco Community Centre each month. The hall is decked out in accordance with the theme, and attendees enjoy a three-course lunch, followed by a one-hour performance.

Subiaco Community Centre is transformed into a movie theatre once a month as the city hosts its popular film club. Enjoy a three-course lunch followed by the screening of the chosen film and popcorn.

Throughout the year the Subiaco Community Centre also hosts an intergenerational film club, where grandparents are encouraged to bring along their grandchildren. Feel free to let the kids bring their favourite bean bags to sit on.
Twice yearly the city holds an afternoon of fine china, delicate finger foods and classical music. The February high tea is held at teh Subiaco Community Centre, and th August high tea is held at the Shenton Park Community Centre.
Out 'n' about bus trips
The city's out 'n' about bus trips provide the perfect opportunity for seniors to attend events and visit attractions throughout Perth. These low-cost tours depart from the Subiaco and Shenton Park community centres.
Tom Dadour Community Centre seniors' program
The seniors' program at the Tom Dadour Community Centre provides a range of fun activities that are aimed at enhancing wellbeing, promoting positive ageing and providing social opportunities. Attendees undertake a range of activities including arts and crafts, cooking, day trips, musical performances and much more.
A three-course lunch is provided to attendees and transport to and from the centre can be provided to local residents.
This program is partly funded by the Home and Community Care (HACC) program and is available to HACC eligible and non-HACC eligible residents alike. Fees are charged according to the participant's status and eligibility.
There are three exercise classes now available at Shenton Park Community Centre:

Are you looking for ways to improve your balance and strength? Chair yoga may be the answer. During this class a qualified instructor will guide you through a range of movements that have been modified to ensure everyone can participate. Movements are performed in a seated position, or with the aid of a chair for balance. Participants of all levels of ability and experience are invited to take part.
Living and lifestyle forum
Access to timely, practical information is vital for active ageing. The city hosts bi-monthly information sessions on a range of topics important to seniors.
Throughout the year the city hosts other themed events, such as Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, Melbourne Cup, fashion parades and Christmas functions.
