The city is committed to helping employees maintain and improve their health and wellbeing through various initiatives available to employees. The city was recently awarded a gold rating from Healthier Workplace WA (external site), recognising a commitment to encouraging healthy behaviours that aim to maintain and improve employee wellbeing. 


Employment eligibility

The city can only employ people who can legally work in Australia. These include:

To be considered eligible for employment by the city, you will be required to show an original copy of one or more of the following documents.

Occupational safety and health

The City of Subiaco is  committed to providing its employees, contractors, volunteers and visitors a safe and healthy workplace.

The City of Subiaco maintains a safety management system that promotes the safety, health and well being of all employees, contractors, visitors and volunteers. The city promotes a culture of hazard identification, injury prevention and general occupational safety and health (OSH) awareness throughout the organisation. In meeting its occupational safety and health obligations, the city:

  • consults and communicates with regards to OSH with employees, contractors and volunteers
  • provides employees, contractors and volunteers with the necessary induction, information and training to enable them to perform their work in a safe manner
  • provides an effective system of accident/incident reporting, investigation and recording
  • ensures effective purchasing, contracts, tenders, leasing, hiring systems and assets comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Australian regulations and standards
  • establishes delegated day to day occupational safety and health responsibilities of the CEO, directors, branch managers, supervisors and employees
  • communicates openly with employees, contractors, volunteers and visitors about work health and safety matters.
